Letter, December 23, 1786.

Green, writing from Louisville (eventually Kentucky) to the Governor, Council, and Legislature of Georgia, complains about the recently negotiated Jay-Gardoqui Treaty with Spain, which would prohibit American navigation of the Mississippi River for 25 years, doing great damage to western American development. Wants the Georgia leaders to oppose the treaty. (Congress did not ratify the treaty).
